CELEBRATION OF THE FEAST OF APOSTLE JAMES AT ST JACOB – NAWANGO

His Grace Bishop Silvestros Kisitu presided over the celebrations at St Jacob – Nawango as the parish observed the feast of their patron saint, the holy hieromartyr James (Iakovos), Brother of the Lord, first Bishop of Jerusalem. The honoured event was prefaced by the glorious Divine Liturgy in which the Bishop, as the principal celebrant, was accompanied by the Vicar General, Rev Fr Chrysostom Koolya, Fr Joseph Panuha, Fr Emmanuel Kungo, Fr James Tizoomu and Deacon Samuel Kirunda.
The Bishop also prayed for and blessed the primary seven pupils of St John Nakyaka and St Jacob Nawango who are preparing for the forthcoming examinations. Different local leaders graced the function.
St Jacob (Iakovos) – Nawango parish is found in Kamuli district, Kitayunjwa sub-county, Bugaya village _ 5 miles from Kamuli town . Currently under the priestly ministry of Fr Steven Lunagula and Deacon Samuel Kirunda, the parish is celebrating fifty years of existence, having been started in 1973 by the late Fr Joachim Foola Kawonawo.
