oday’s morning, His Grace Bishop Silvestros served the Divine Liturgy at Holy Resurrection Cathedral – Jinja to celebrate the feast of our father among the saints, Nectarios Metropolitan of Pentapolis and Wonder-worker of Aegina.
One of the most revered modern saints, Nectarios served under our patriarchate, particularly as the Metropolitan of Pentapolis in Eastern Libya before moving to Aegina in Greece where he worked wonders and innumerable multitude of miracles were wrought after his repose in 1920 through his incorruptible relics.
St Nectarios was ranked among the saints in 1961 by the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.
With hymns of praise let us extol in heartfelt jubilance the lately shining luminary of the Orthodox faith and the Church’s recent fortification. By the action of the Spirit was he glorified, and he gushes up the grace of cures abundantly unto those who cry: Rejoice, Father #Nectarios.
