Israel’s tourism minister this week called on the Primates of Christian Churches in the Holy Land to extend the hours that churches and cathedrals are open to worshippers for the coming Christmas holiday.
According to the latest figures, 55 percent of the visitors that travel to Israel every year are Christians.

The minister, Yariv Levin, said Israel expects to receive 4.5  million tourists by the end of 2019, up from the 2.9-million-figure of just three years ago.
