A wide-ranging meeting was held this week at the Patriarchate of Georgia to deal with the increasingly acute problem of gambling in the Caucasus country, especially now amid the holiday season.
A specific initiative to warn the public over the dangers of gambling was first proposed by the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II.
The meeting was attended by Church hierarchs, representatives of UNICEF, Parliament deputies, psychologists and other specialists.
