The Holy Synod of the Church of Cyprus also convened on Tuesday to scrutinize a recent, and very disappointing, decision by the island republic’s government concerning places of worship and Church-going.
In his communication with the president of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, the Archbishop of Cyprus, His Beatitude Chrysostomos, expressed the Church’s concerns and the very negative reactions by several hierarchs over a decision keep worshipers away from services.
Archbishop Chrysostomos requested that worshippers be allowed to attend Holy Services with strict public health measures imposed.
