Church of Greece Holy Synod convenes on Tues.

Members of the permanent Holy Synod of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece convened on Tuesday and will again meet tomorrow, Wednesday, in what will be the last session of the 163rd synodical period for the specific ecclesiastical body.

The new ecclesiastical year begins on Sept. 1.

The session was chaired by the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos, who arrived at the synodical hall wearing a mask, in line with public health recommendations to prevent exposure to the coronvirus.

Health care professionals also used hand-held laser thermometers to check attending Church hierarchs.
