The permanent Holy Synod of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece convened today in its new composition, as Tuesday marks the beginning of its new synodical period. The sessions will end on Thursday.
One of the primary issues that will be discussed will be the implementation of coronavirus-related measures in the churches.
The 164th synodical period, which ends on the last day of August in 2021, will be chaired by the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos.
