Collections gathered in Russian Orthodox parishes around the vast country, with the blessing and urging of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, His Holiness Kirill, will finance the opening and operation of four new shelters for pregnant women and new mothers. The shelters are expected to open this month.
The aim of the shelters is to support pregnant women and to help reduce the number of abortions in Russia.
