Today is the 5th Wednesday after Pascha, Holy and Great Easter Sunday. The Church today venerates the memory of St. Lydia of Thyatira, as well as of the Holy Martyr Thalleleus.
St. Thalleleus was from the region of ancient Phoenicia, modern-day Lebanon, the son of a Christian bishop.
Raised in piety, he was trained as a physician.
During the persecution of Numerian, after many torments he was beheaded in 284. St. Thalleleus is one of the Holy Unmercenaries.
