The Church today venerates the memory of St. Hypomoni the Righteous.
Hypomoni means patience in Greek.
St. Hypomoni, the daughter of 14th century Serbian nobleman Konstantin Dragas, was the Byzantine Empress consort Helena Palaiologos, the mother of the last emperor of the Eastern Roman Empire, Constantine Palailogos.
St. Hypomoni’s holy relic is venerated today at the St. Pa-TA-pios Convent outside the southern Greek coastal town of Loutraki.
