The Patriarchal and Stavropegic Holy Monastery of Eikosifinissa, between the prefectures of Serres and Drama, on the Sunday of Thomas commemorated the memory of the 172 martyr monks who were slain by the Ottoman Muslims on the same date in 1507.
A celebratory Divine Liturgy was officiated in the morning by the Metropolitan of Drama, His Eminence Pavlos, followed by a litany procession of the Holy Icon of the Panaghia Eikosifinissa and the Holy Relics preserved at the monastery was conducted around the catholicos, meaning the main cathedral at the monastery.
