On 20 December 2018, the bilateral commission for dioceses and parishes in far abroad countries established with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia held its session at the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations with the participation of representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia.
Taking part in the meeting chaired by Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, DECR chairman, were Archbishop Mark of Berlin and Germany; Archbishop Antony of Vienna and Budapest, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Administration for Institutions Abroad; Bishop Ioann of Bogorodsk, administrator of the Moscow Patriarchate’s parishes in Italy; Bishop Irenei of Richmond and Western Europe; Archpriest Nikolai Balashov, DECR vice-chairman; Archpriest Seraphim Gan, chancellor of the Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia; and Archpriest Nikolai Artemov, secretary of the German Diocesan Administration.
The participants in the meeting discussed further promotion of cooperation in pastoral activities carried out by the dioceses and parishes in the far abroad countries.
