The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, was the latest Orthodox Primate this week to convey His condolences to Queen Elizabeth II over the death of her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip.
The Ecumenical Patriarch, His All Holiness Bartholomew, had previously expressed his sorrow and offered condolences following the passing of Prince Philip at the age of 99.
In a letter of condolences sent to Queen Elizabeth, the Ecumenical Patriarch referred to their cooperation in matters of the protection of the natural environment, as the late Prince Philip was an honorary president of the World Wide Fund for Nature.
