In a related development, the Turkish government has issued yet another notification towards mariners, extending to Sept. 25, warning of seismic research in a stretch of the eastern Mediterranean that lies in Greece’s continental shelf, with the research vessel accompanied by Turkish warships – something that maintains Ankara’s war-mongering and belligerence in the wider region.
Turkey is neither a signatory nor a party to the International Law of the Sea, as are all EU member-states, ignoring international law in the Aegean and Mediterranean but applying it, de facto, in the Black Sea.
