Members of the Christian Association of Women of Paralimni, on Cyprus, arrived in Greece this week for a pilgrimage, with the first site on their itinerary being the Grammatikos site in eastern Attica prefecture, northwest of Athens proper.
While there, pilgrims from the association “St. George”, attended a trisagion memorial service for the victims of Helios Airways Flight 522, which crashed on Aug. 14, 2005, killing all 121 passengers and crew on board.
The passenger jet was flying from Larnaca, Cyprus to Prague, with a stopover in Athens scheduled. One-hundred and three victims were Cypriot nationals, while the rest were citizens of Greece.
