July 1, the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America launched its new Parish Planned Giving Initiative at the 2024 Clergy-Laity Congress. The GOARCH Department of Stewardship, Outreach and Evangelism’s Director of Parish Planned Giving, Melpomeni “Melpo” Murdakes, emphasized that the new initiative has the full support of His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America in his concern for the long-term spiritual and financial health of parishes throughout the Archdiocese. During the session, Murdakes presented the Parish Planned Giving Guidebook and QuickStart Guide to attendees, outlining these resources’ plan for parishes to initiate, refine, and enhance their planned giving programs. Over 300 attendees attentively listened to Murdakes outline different approaches for parish stewardship and imperative foundational steps.
