The day before the feast day of the Dormition of the Theotokos, the Ever-Virgin Mary, based on the Julian calendar, is commemorated today by the Patriarchate of Jerusalem. Members of the Holy Brotherhood of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher were led by the Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Most Godly Beatitude Theophilos, in a procession towards the Tomb of the Virgin Mary at the foot of the Mount of Olives.
