On Wednesday, 7 August 2024, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew communicated via telephone with His Beatitude Patriarch John X of Antioch and expressed to him the concern and deep interest of the Great and Holy Church of Christ for the alarming situation in Lebanon and more broadly in the area of his jurisdiction, and assured him of his own personal prayers and those of everyone at the Phanar, for the overcoming of the dangers and for the continuation in peace and security of his Hierarchical ministry and the life and works of the local Christians being tested.
His Beatitude Patriarch John of Antioch then warmly thanked his brother Hierarch in Constantinople and informed him that at this moment he and those with him are not in any immediate danger, and then asked for continued prayers and supplications for them all to Christ, the Lord of peace.
