The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, on Saturday welcomed to the Patriarchate US Amb. Philip T. Reeker, who holds the European and Eurasian Affairs portfolio at the State Department.
A lengthy discussion followed on various issues of common interest.
Amb. Reeker was accompanied by the US ambassador in Ankara, David Satterfield, and the US Consul General in the Bosporus metropolis, Daria Darnell, while the meeting was attended by Archbishop Makarios of Australia and the director of the First Patriarchal Office, Konstantinos Delikonstantis.
On Sunday, the Ecumenical Patriarch received the Archbishop of Helsinki and All Finland, His Eminence Leon.
