The Elder Archimandrite Ephraim, the Abbot of the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopedi, on Wednesday gave a lecture entitled “Let Everything That Has Breath Praise the Lord” (Psalm 150:6), at the St. (Aghios) Demetrius Cathedral in southeast Athens. The subject was inspired by everyday life on the semi-autonomous Monastic community of Mt. Athos, pastoral experience and Orthodox theology.

The address was part a series of events for the annual “Demetria” commemoration, ahead of Saturday’s Feast Day for St. Demetrius, on Oct. 26.

The cathedral was filled with the faithful during the lecture, and during a subsequent discussion in the parish hall, while an evening vigil followed, officiated by the Elder Archimandrite Ephraim.

The Elder’s entire lecture, in Greek, is posted today on the online magazine Pemptousia.
