Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon liturgised at the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Kandilli, Constantinople
On Tuesday, 6 August 2024, on the occasion of the great feast of the Lord, the Holy Transfiguration of the Saviour, the Church of the Transfiguration, which is located on the hill of Kandilli on the Eastern bank of the Bosphorus, celebrated the feast day.
The Feast Day Divine Liturgy was officiated by His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon.
The Church was recently renovated, thanks to the great donation of the businessman Mr. Nikos Konstantopoulos, for whose health, but also for the members of the Community, an Artoklasia Service was performed.
After the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, together with the antidoron, distributed the blessed grapes to the pious Christians, having read the appropriate prayer for blessing, continuing the old tradition of the Church of Constantinople on this feast day.
The Divine Liturgy was followed by a festive reception which was held in the courtyard of the Church.
