Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon visits Lithuania
His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon is currently undertaking a visit in Lithuania, following a venerable Patriarchal request, where he met with the Patriarchal Exarch Hieromonk Father Ioustinos Kiviloo and the clergy of the Exarchate of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Lithuania.
On Wednesday, 17 July, Metropolitan Emmanuel along with the Patriarchal Exarch Father Ioustinos visited the Prime Minister of Lithuania Ms. Ingrida Šimonytė. During the meeting, which was held in a cordial atmosphere, issues related to the Exarchate of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, as well as current issues, were discussed.
His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel thanked the Prime Minister and the Government of Lithuania for their interest and concern for the Patriarchal Exarchate.
Prime Minister Šimonytė expressed her thanks to His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, but also personally to His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, for the rebirth of the presence of the Mother Church in Lithuania.
