Events and commemorations continued this week in the northeast city of Xanthi, on the occasion of the 100-year anniversary of its liberation.
A celebratory Divine Liturgy was conducted at the Cathedral of the True Forerunner in the city, officiated by the Metropolitan of Trifyllia and Olympia, His Eminence Chrysostomos, in the presence of Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos. A thanksgiving service was later held in the presence of Greece’s President of the Republic, Prokopis Pavlopoulos.
