Restrictive measures on public assembly in Greece have been extended for another two weeks, in response to the continuing coronvirus pandemic in the east Mediterranean country. Similar to the previous such measures, places of worship are prominently covered.
The use of masks by worshippers and clerics indoors is mandatory, along with a ceiling on the number of worshippers during services — strict social distancing and a maximum number of people attending sacraments, such as weddings and baptisms.

The extension of measures is expected to be discussed at Tuesday’s session of the Permanent Holy Synod of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece, the first of the new ecclesiastical year and with a new composition of Metropolitans as members.
