The municipality of Gennadi on the Dodecanese island of Rhodes today celebrates the feast day of St. Anastasia the Roman, as the chapel in the town’s cemetery is dedicated to the saint.
The chapel features a unique, in Greece, series of frescoes detailing St. Anastasia’s life and martyrdom, dated to roughly the year 1800.
The chapel, according to some sources, is built upon the remains of an early Christian basilica.
