Feast day of Christina the Great Martyr of Tyre

The Church today venerates the memory of Christina the Great Martyr of Tyre.

Living in the late second century, St. Christina was the daughter of a pagan named Urban. Enlightened in her heart to believe in Christ, she broke her father’s idols, made of gold and silver, and distributed the pieces to the poor. She was subjected to imprisonment and unspeakable tortures, finally achieve the crown of martyrdom in year 200, during the reign of Emperor Septimius Severus.
