The Church today venerates the memory of Patapius, the Righteous of Thebes.
This saint hailed from Upper Egypt, and toiled for many years in the desert wilderness.
He departed for Constantinople, and having performed many miracles and healings, he reposed in peace in the fifth century in a mountain cave above the Gulf of Corinth, where his holy relics are found incorrupt to the present day, preserved in a monastery dedicated to his memory.
