Feast Day of St. Spyridonas celebrated on Cyprus with splendor

The Feast Day of St. Spyridonas was celebrated on Thursday throughout the island republic of Cyprus, the saint’s birthplace, and with particular splendor at the Cathedral dedicated to St. Spyridonas, in Nicosia’s Strovolos municipality.
A celebratory Divine Liturgy was officiated by the Bishop of Mesaoria, His Grace Grigorios, with numerous worshippers hailing from the now Turkish-occupied townships of Asha and Mousoulitas in attendance.

St. Spyridon, the Bishop of Tremithus, was born in the 3rd century AD in Asha.
