The memory of the Holy Unmercenaries, Saints Kosmas and Damian of Asia Minor was celebrated with ecclesiastical splendour at the Church of Saints Anargiri in the suburb of Oakleigh, Melbourne. His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis, Archiepiscopal Vicar of Melbourne, presided over the feast day celebrations, joined by Father George Adamakis, Father Kyriakos Tsapas and Father Stavros Kakavas.

His Grace Bishop Kyriakos conveyed to the faithful the paternal wishes and the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, while he spoke appropriately about the patron Saints of the Oakleigh Parish-Community, as well as for their mother, Saint Theodota, focusing among other things on the fact that Saints Kosmas and Damian, possessing the gift of healing the diseases of people and animals, refused to receive money from those they healed.

The feast day celebration was attended by many students from Oakleigh Grammar School, who also assisted at the sacred chanter’s stand, joining their teacher Mr. Konstantinos Damatopoulos.
