The Feast Day of the Annunciation was celebrated on Tuesday at the Cathedral of the Savior in Moscow, with a con-celebratory Divine Liturgy officiated by the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, His Holiness Kirill – given that the Russian Church observes the Julian calendar.

The Divine Liturgy was conducted without the presence of worshipers.

For the Russian Orthodox Church, the day marked a twin commemoration, as the memory of St. Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow and Apostle to America, was also venerated.

Similarly, the Feast of the Annunciation was celebrated by the Orthodox Church of Georgia.

In a televised address, the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, extended his best wishes to the Georgian people and Georgian Diaspora, adding: “…We must not forget that all come from God. We must know that the power of God is expressed in every person, family, and in every nation”.
