Filming has begun in Greece of the US-Greek production “Man of God”, based on the life and works of St. Nektarios of Aegina, with Yelena Popovic directing and penning the scenario.
Parts of Athens, the harbor town of Lavrio and the Saronic island of Aegina itself will serve as the backdrops for the feature-length film.
Greek actor Aris Servetalis has been tapped to portray St. Nektarios, while international film stars Mickey Rourke and Alexander Petrov are part of an ensemble cast.
The musical score is by Zbigniew Preisner.
