The online magazine Pempousia on Wednesday evening also hosted the first Internet broadcast of composer Giorgos Theofanous’ oratorium, entitled “Panagia, Τhe Mother of Light”, which was performed last October in Limassol, Cyprus.
The performance had been organized by the St. Maximos the Greek Institute, under the auspices of the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopedi, in cooperation with the Holy Metropolis of Limassol.
The first two performances had been given at the Athens Concert Hall, the Megaron.
The musical score is based on poems dedicated to the Panaghia, the Virgin Mary, mostly by Elders that lived on Mount Athos.
