The 1st of September is the first day of the Ecclesiastical year in the Orthodox Church and the day that has been dedicated by our Holy Patriachate to the care and prayer for the environment and God’s creation in general.
The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia District of Northcote Victoria announces that this day will be honoured by the following services:
1. Monday 31st August 5pm Great Vespers.
2. Tuesday 1st September 8am Matins and Divine Liturgy.
3. Tuesday 1st September 7pm Blessing of Waters Service (Ayiasmo).
All services will be bilenguil and LIVE STREAMED only.
Services will be conducted from the Archdiocesan Church, Holy Monastery AXION ESTI.
This year, although in restrictions, we can still dedicated Tuesday 1st September to our environment. We can do something during the 1 hour we can leave our homes for some exercise or shopping. Details of some ideas on the post!
