Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia, who is paying an official visit to the Republic of Turkey, made a special statement in connection with the recent developments around the Georgian Orthodox Church.
As the Prime Minister said such unbelievable attacks on the Georgian Patriarch, the symbol of country’s spiritual nature, are the attacks on the country, our statehood and the church.
“The Patriarch of Georgia is a symbol of the spiritual nature of our country, the symbol of the unity of our past, present and future.
People who can’t prevent their egos, put our present and future under the risk. This is absolutely unacceptable and I am sure that every citizen of our country stands by our Patriarch today. Of course, we will handle it, we will stand it, and we will become more powerful with the blessing of our Patriarch, ”Giorgi Gakharia said.
