The churches of David Gareji complex will be opened for Georgian clergy from tomorrow, – Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia made this statement at the cabinet meeting today. He summed up his visit to Azerbaijan.
Prime Minister said that during the meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev the talks focused on David Gareji issue.
“We could not sidestep such an important issue. We all remember that, unfortunately, there are certain sections of the Georgia-Azerbaijan border that have not yet been demarcated, this is our post-Soviet legacy, and this problem has not been resolved in 25 years. The President of Azerbaijan said that we have a history and geography that connect us, and, of course, I completely agree that geography and history not divide friends and partners, rather connect”, – Prime Minister said.
Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia paid his first official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
