Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Kostas Vlassis traveled to the United States this week. While in New York City, the Greek minister, who holds the expatriate Greeks’ portfolio, will meet with Greece’s general consul and will also tour the under-construction St. Nicholas Orthodox Church at Ground Zero, in Manhattan.
In Washington DC, the Archbishop of America, His Eminence Elpidophoros, will receive Vlassis, while the latter will also have meetings with representatives of Greek-American organizations and academics. Finally, he will attend an official dinner hosted by US Secreatry of State Mike Pompeo, within the framework of the initiative “International Religious Freedom Alliance”.
