Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Costas Vlassis on Tuesday received the new Exarch of the Holy Sepulcher in Athens, His Most Reverend Archimandrite Rafael Grivas.
The Holy and Sacred Synod of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem announced the appointment last month of its new Exarch in Athens.
Vlassis congratulated the Archimandrite over his appointment to the post, while reiterating the Greek government’s support to the Patriarchate of Jerusalem and its Patriarch, His Most Godly Beatitude Theophilos III.
The minister also underlined the very significant role of the Patriarchate in safeguarding the Greek Orthodox tradition in the Holy Land.
