Greek DM in Egypt, to be received by Patriarch of Alexandria Theodoros II

Greek defense minister Nikos Panagiotopoulos on Thursday began an official three-day visit to Egypt.

In Cairo, the Greek minister will be received by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and then by his Egyptian counterpart, Gen. Mohamed Zaki.

On Friday, the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, His Most Divine Beatitude Theodoros II, will receive Panagiotopoulos at the Patriarchal Monastery of St. Savas the Sanctified, in Alexandria.

The Greek minister is in the Mideast country to observe the final phase of a joint military exercise by the armed forces of Egypt, Greece, France, Cyprus and the United Arab Emirates.
