Greek Parliament president briefed on Church’s initiatives for pilgrimages, religious tourism
Greek Parliament President Costas Tassoulas on Friday received Archimandrite Spyridonas Katramados, who heads the Church of Greece’s religious tourism and pilgrimages sector. Archimandrite Spyridonas was accompanied by Parliament Deputy Vassilios Giogakas, who is elected from Thesprotia prefecture in extreme northwest Greece.
According to reports, the Greek Parliament president showed a particular interest in the Church’s initiatives to promote and showcase various monasteries, religious monuments and pilgrimages in the country. He also expressed satisfaction with the Church’s promotion of the Epirus province at the fourth national conference on pilgrimage tours.
Tasoulas is elected from Ioannina prefecture, in mountainous Epirus province.
