Greek PM Mitsotakis, cabinet will not attend ‘Ohi’ day liturgy

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and cabinet members will not be attending church services for the October 28 ‘Ohi’ day, government spokesman Stelios Petsas announced on Friday, in response to a call by the archbishop to avoid large gatherings and prevent the spread of coronavirus.
“Prompted by the call of responsibility by Archbishop Hieronymus II of Athens and All Greece to avoid mass gatherings, the government is announcing that the prime minister and its members will not attend the celebratory liturgy for our national anniversary of October 28. This year, let us say ‘Ohi’ (No) to the coronavirus as well,” the spokesman said.
