Visiting Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Tuesday visited the St. George Orthodox Church in Cairo’s old district – one of the most significant Christian sites in all of Africa.

Mitsotakis was also welcomed by new Mt. Athos civil governor Athanasios Martinos and his wife Marina, whose generous donation has fully funded the thorough renovation of the ancient cathedral.
The major restoration works were blessed and overseen by the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, His Divine Beatitude Theodoros II.
