A litany of the Holy Icon of the Theotokos Axion Estin was held on Bright Monday at the capital of the semi-autonomous monastic community of Mount Athos, Karyes.
Some 70 representatives of the holy monasteries on the northern Greece peninsula participated in the litany, all following prescribed social distances, while the Holy Icon was accompanied by the four members of the rotating Mount Athos monastic administration. The litany procession passed by several monastic quarters and cells, while also arriving at the Holy Monastery of Koutloumousiou, before returning to Karyes.
