The spokesman of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece, Metropolitan of Nafpaktos, His Eminence Ierotheos, said he awaits a full return to normalcy and church-going, speaking on an Athens television station and before the prime minister’s nationally televised address.
His Eminence added that the previous day’s statements by a government spokesman, namely, that churches gradually open to worshipers, does not fulfill the demands cited by Archbishop Ieronymos in a letter to Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis. He also expressed his personal disappointment over the fact that churches remain closed to the faithful.
