Impressive digital exhibition of Mt. Athos’ treasures at Athens Megaron

Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Costas Vlassis, who holds the expatriate Hellenism and ecclesiastical diplomacy portfolio, on Tuesday toured the digital exhibition “Passage to the Light”, which showcases the significant work of digitization of the cultural treasures of the Holy Monasteries of Mount Athos.

The minister was accompanied by the civil governor of Mt. Athos, Athanasios Martinos.

The exhibition is accessible through the Athos Digital Heritage initiative, and reveal the sacred treasures of millennium-old Mount Athos Orthodox Tradition, an conveying the message and the spirituality of Mount Athos to the modern world.

The digitization took four years to complete and was co-financed by the European Union.
