Inspiring story of paralyzed footballer who turned to God to overcome adversity
The inspiring story of former Romanian international footballer Mihai Nesu is posted today on the pages of the Orthodoxia news agency. Nesu was left paralyzed after suffering a neck injury during a training session with FC Utrecht in May 2011.
Now confined to a wheel chair, Nesu was baptized in the Orthodox faith and visited Mt. Athos. He is now a well-known inspirational speaker, stressing on every occasion that his faith in God, and the support of his spiritual father, helps him overcome adversity.
He noted that “…I believe God sacrificed my body in order to save my soul… looking back on my life, I judge that my greatest mistake is that I was not close to God from the beginning.”
Eight years after accident, Nesu opened a rehabilitation center for injured teenagers.
