Islamist terrorist group takes credit for deadly Vienna shooting spree

The fanatical “Islamic State” terrorist group has taken credit for a shooting spree in Vienna on Monday, with international media reporting that the nefarious group posted a statement on the Internet.

At least four people were killed and 14 others wounded, seven with life-threatening injuries, in the attack. Police shot and killed the gunman, later identified as 20-year-old Kujtim Fejzulai, an ethnic Albanian born and raised in Vienna.

The country’s interior minister described the assailant as an “Islamist terrorist”, adding that he acted alone and was armed with an assault rifle and a fake explosive vest.

The terrorist had been sentenced to 22 months in prison last year after attempting to travel to Syria to join the Muslim fundamentalists fighting against the Syrian government. He was released seven months later due to laws applying to young adults.
