Israeli ambassador to Greece visits Orthodox monastic community of Mt. Athos

The Israeli ambassador to Greece, Yossi Amrani, this week referred to his recent visit to the semi-autonomous monastic community of Mt. Athos, in northern Greece, during an interview with Greece’s national news agency.
Amb. Amrani referred to an utterly unique experience, praising Mt. Athos as a “capsule”, as he said, of untouched natural beauty, history, culture, art and a monastic way of life.
He noted that although the visit was not a religious experience for him, it was a “human experience”.
