Yet another example where Orthodoxy unites, when war divides, was reported from far-off Iceland.
A joint prayer service was held this week before an icon of Our Most Holy Lady Theotokos, the Ever-Virgin Mary, at the St. Nicholas Orthodox cathedral in Reykjavik, bringing together Orthodox faithful who make Iceland their home, along with émigrés from Armenia and Azerbaijan.
A service was officiated by Fr. Timotheos Zolotuski, the archpriest of the Russian Orthodox Church’s stavropegic parish of Reykjavik.
Those in attendance at the prayer service prayed for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Nagorno-Karabahk.
