Melbourne: 2nd Sunday of Holy and Great Lent at the Church of Saint Demetrios, Prahran
On Sunday, 31 March 2024, the Second Sunday of Holy and Great Lent, which is dedicated to Saint Gregory Palamas, Archbishop of Thessaloniki, His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis liturgised at the Church of Saint Demetrios in the suburb of Prahran in Melbourne, and was joined by His Grace Bishop Themistocles of Nicopolis, from the Patriarchate of Alexandria.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, Bishop Kyriakos appropriately addressed the congregation, speaking of the significance of the day’s commemoration, while he also conveyed the blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, and wished the faithful a good spiritual fight for the remainder of Holy and Great Lent.
