MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR THE LATE METROPOLITAN THEODOROS NANKYAMA

Yesterday, 17 January 2024 marked twenty seven years since the first ever Metropolitan of Uganda Orthodox Church, Theodoros Nankyama fell asleep. His Grace Bishop Silvester Kisitu presided over the memorial service at Holy Resurrection Cathedral – Jinja, along with Rev Fr Philemonos Ochom and Rev Fr Thomas Wananda after the Divine Liturgy which was co-served by the latter two.
Every year, as we celebrate the feast of our venerable father, Andonios the great, we also honour the memory of our spiritual father, His Eminence Theodoros who revered so much the father of monasticism that it was miraculous for him to fall asleep on that exact date in 1997. May his memory be eternal
